" Fill out an evaluation form on the peers in your group's participation
give that to me and meet with me and the rest of your group to discuss the presentation
pros and cons.
Wellness Wednesday Article (50pts): Grading
for the WellNow Article will be based on meeting deadlines, having appropriate
and cited health information, turning in all the required materials as detailed
by the WellNow editor and making all the necessary changes as detailed by the
editor.
Outside Involvement (50pts): Ten hours of involvement for the term (e.g.. staffing
information tables, campus wide events, fitness events, bulletin boards, taking
it to the streets, and other peer presentations...). Sign ups for events will
typically take place in class one or two weeks before the event. This needs
to be typed 14+ font and placed in your binder. If you sign up to help out with
a health ed event you are dedicating yourself to this and if you do not show
up you will lose 10 points for every hour you did not follow through with your
commitment.
Individual Presentation (50pts): Individually develop and present a final 30 minute presentation on any topic (health related) of your choice. You can use any avenue you wish such as: skits, workshops, lecture, activities, group facilitation, games etc . You must provide the class with an outline of your presentation as well as a 14 font copy of your outline that is to be given to me.
Attendance and participation (100 pts): Because of the seminar style of the class, your complete attendance is critical. One excused absence is allowed from class, thereafter, each absence will result in a loss of 10 points if I am not notified before class and 5 points if I am notified. For office hours you are allowed 1 absence, ONLY if you have found a replacement for your hour, if you have not you will lose 10 points. You MUST call me and let me know if you are not going to be in class or at your office hrs. The first few minutes of each class are typically dedicated to announcements; therefore tardies greater than five minutes will constitute a loss of 5 points each. If you are signed up for outside hours and you fail to attend the scheduled hours you will lose 10 points each hour for participation and 10 points for each outside hour (these points can not be made up).
Late Assignments
Assignments are due the date specified by me either on the syllabus or in a
